Enter the minds of Transition and No-brainz, two high school kids coming out of Boca with a sound so unique that you'd swear you've heard it before. The Sunny DeVilles are a Hip-Hop team that came around about a year ago with a self-titled mixtape, Sunny DeVilles. Where Transition brings the sharp wit and honest lyricism, No-brainz brings a more nonchalant approach to the same subject matter with a touch of a sarcastic, "fuck y'all," type flow. The single and video from the Sunny DeVilles tape, Seriously? is a perfect example of that. From the second the beat drops, Transition's wordplay hits you like steel wool to the face. "...breaking out of one cuff to see the other, is being free just as tough?" With a smooth combination of relatable content and an uncommon flow, The Sunny DeVilles bring way more to the table than just a lil sumthin' for the hood. Where most artists lose their delivery on stage, Transition and No-brainz come with killer charisma and a tunnel vision for the mic. I've had the pleasure of seeing them perform twice and both times I got a different experience. The first time was the debut of my spoken word in Florida and let me just say, that shit got me hyped to hit the stage. Instead of hiding behind a stand, they grabbed their mics and rocked the crowd at ground level. They omit nothing but good vibes through the speakers and bring a certain energy that gets everybody's head bumpin. The boys are currently working on their next project called "In Search Of..." which should be dropping within the next two months. They just dropped a video for Take Off on Halloween which has a robo-leanin', slow-motion soundin' vibe, but without the sissy cryin' sounds of that shit that plays on the radio. The Wash is a lot more upbeat but when it bumps through my speakers, it most definitely makes me want to sit on top of a washing machine and smoke a phatty. So to all out there who have stereotypical hangups that "white boys can't rap," yeah, you can just throw those out along with this year's radio singles and download some Sunny DeVilles.
