New Music: Jarell Perry "Wide Awake" Newton Shooting Tribute
In the mist of the tradgey that happened in Newton, Connecticut a few days ago, Jarell has decided to cover Katy Perry's "Wide Awake" to pay tribute to those who lost theirs lives and loved ones. You can stream it below and download it here.
"Seeing tragic events like what happened in Newtown on 12/14, there are countless emotions, reactions, and questions we ask of ourselves and of our nation. These acts of violence are called ‘senseless’ because there will never be enough answers. And yet they continue to occur and we are rocked. Shaken awake. My heart breaks for every family affected by this tragedy. And as much as I’d like to turn off the 24-hour news and forget that something like this is possible, I share a collective responsibility to respond. Respond to a broken mental health system. Respond to a culture of gun violence. Respond with action and with art." - Jarell Perry

Meek Mill Pleads With The D.A. To Lift His "Travel Ban" So He Can Expand His Tour
Meek Mill has asked a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania judge to loosen travel restrictions so he doesn't have as hard a time touring.
According to NBC 10 Philadelphia, attorneys for the Maybach Music Group rapper filed a request last Wednesday for a Philly judge to lift any ban on travel so he can have an easier time touring. Defense attorney Dennis Cogan says that Mill's earning power is limited by the ban.
But the 25-year-old artist may not be in luck. Assistant District Attorney Noel DeSantis told The Philadelphia Inquirer that she will oppose the request, stating that he was already cut a break in serving only eight months of an 11- to 23-month sentence for being found guilty of assault, gun possession and drug charges.
"I'm out here doing good. Until I start doing bad, that's when I think it should be a problem," said Mill in an interview with NBC.
UPDATE: Meek Mill's Appeal Was Denied.

Lil Wayne Ordered To Pay $7.72 Million In Back Taxes
The lil’ feller paid off back IRS taxes for a total $7.72 million. According to court filings, the tatted out chart-topping singer of Got Money and Lolli Pop became the target of not just one but THREE liens for unpaid income levy.
The rapper owed $3,351,077.95 for 2008 and $2,258,956 and 4 cents for 2009, according to Miami-Dade County records.
The IRS wisely waited for Lil Wayne to buy a place on La Gorce Island before coming down on him like a rapper’s posse.
Until Wayne plunked down $11.6 million for a 15,000-square-foot crib on La Gorce Circle last September, he was renting a place and did have the kind of asset that the IRS loves to lien.
But the moment Wayne become a proud Miami Beach homeowner, the liens rained down on him!
Lil Wayne, meanwhile, isn’t the only South Florida rapper with tax issues. In September, Gossip Extra reported that Flo Rida was hit with a $1 million-back tax bill.

Trey Songz Arrested For Assault
Trey Songz (real name Tremaine Neverson) had an album release partyon August 21 at a gentleman’s club in Queens. According to police, somewhere between 4:00 and 4:15 AM on the 22nd, Trey became involved in an altercation inside the club.
Cops described the incident this way in the criminal complaint: “Tremaine Neverson, did throw a sum of United States currency at the complainant and said sum of United States currency struck the complainant’s left eye causing substantial pain to her left eye.”
It is unclear if the woman in question was … how do we say this nicely … a stripper.
Songz was not arrested that night, but rather a month later for misdemeanor assault. Songz had a court date in NY on November 1 and an order of protection was issued. He is due back in court in February.
We reached out to a rep for Songz, but have yet to hear back.

According to the complaint, A$AP attempted to grab the camera during the melee -- which is where the larceny charge comes from.
