Nas accused of using Jay Electronica as a ghostwriter

Earlier the internet was abuzz when noted hip hop journalist Dream Hampton took to Twitter and said that Nas, viewed as one of the greatest lyricists of all time, had used ghostwriters on his Untitled LP. When responding to a fan asking if Jay-Z could release an album of political nature similar to Nas' Untitled, she said that Nas was heavily assisted by Jay Electronica, and Stic.man of the politically charged, Dead Prez, when writing the album.

Dream added to the fire by saying she had heard six reference tracks, and later FMWJ wrote a post which stated that Jay Electronica had told him about ghostwriting for Nas. Obviously, Nas has never mentioned anything about having ghostwriters, and says that his prolific album work is all his own writing.

Now, the two men charged with ghostwriting for Nas have issues statements on social media to clarify the ghostwriting allegations. Jay Electronica says Nas "never has and never will need a ghostwriter."

Stic.man went on his facebook page and issued the following statement defending Nas' prolific original work: "As far as the rumors about myself and jay electronika ghost writing for Nas, let me say this. Nas is one of the if not the most prolific original lyricist to EVER do it. My contributions to his album was a collaboration and an honor and under his direction of what he wanted to convey and say. Haters cant discredit that man's genuis. Nas is the Don."
